Your Ceremony? When, where and why...and anything else?
My ceremony was in my local church where I was baptised. The ceremony was celebrated by Fr O Gorman and our church singer was Emer Dunne. She was a beautiful singer and made the whole celebration.
The Venue you chose and why?
We chose Castle Durrow as we were always in awe of its stunning setting and the staff made us feel so welcome.
The Photographer you chose and why?
We chose Aoileann as our photographer as we were very impressed with her skills upon looking at her website. We also heard great things from friends and family. And we also wanted to support a local business.
Your Dress
My dress was the first one I tried on. I bought it in Cameo Bridal in Kilkenny. The name of the dress was "Helen" so I feel it was meant to be as my mams name is Helen too.
Your Wedding Theme / Colours:
Pastel colours bright and represented spring
What your bridal party wore...
My two bridesmaids wore two tea length dresses, one was a lilac colour and the other was a taupe colour.
Your Suit...
Eddies suit was hired in a suit shop in Cork
What was your favourite part of your wedding day?
The ceremony in the church was very special and having my mam present meant very much.
Any Advice for other brides / grooms to be?
Relax and enjoy the build up the day goes by very fast.
Please feel free to check out my blog and website and I hope you like what you see.

6th October 2018
We met waiting tables in San Antonio, Texas back in 2013. We became good friends and began dating a year later in April 2014. I proposed to Miguel using the HTC VIVE virtual reality device and created a world for him using the Tilt Brush application. We were engaged for 2 years before we headed to Ireland to 'Tie the knot'!
Our theme was the Inconvenient Irish Wedding due to our location for our American family. Other than the wonderful location Roundwood House provides, our theme was largely offbeat and fun!
The Look!
Natural makeup with lightly curled hair pushed back by a gold headband with flowers that match the belt &
My Dress was a Simple ivory dress with a gold and purple belt. lue with a dark blue shirt. No tie, and blue oxford sneakers.
Our Venue - Roundwood House
Our Venue was Roundwood House and it absolutely made my wedding. Coming from America to get married in Ireland is a difficult feat and Roundwood House made it possible. It was an absolutely perfect location filled with hospitality, superb food, total relaxation, and a setting meant for a memorable wedding. I was told by every guest that my wedding was the best wedding, with the best food, that they had ever been to. I thank Paddy and Hannah from Roundwood House for that.
Our Ceremony
The ceremony was created by our sister in law Julia Ostrov and definitely fit our crazy personality. We entered to the thematic music of John Williams and exited to Julia saying" "Kasey and Miguel, Welcome to Jurassic Park!" There was little tradition, but the presence of our family and loved ones made it the most memorable experience of my life.
Paddy the chef at Roundwood House made an incredible menu starting with a prawn salad, then braised lamb cheeks with horseradish mashed potatoes, a cheese tasting course, and whiskey mousse with ice cream for dessert. It was spectacular, and I was told that not only was it the best wedding food my guests had ever eaten, but also some of the best fine dining they had ever eaten! I am a total foodie, and I can't thank Paddy enough for making my wedding dinner a foodie's paradise!
Our Photographer
I chose Aoileann to photograph my wedding because after lots of internet research on photographers in the area I felt she had a vision when shooting that absolutely matched my taste. I also read testimonials on Aoileann that not only commented on how well she photographed her events, but also how awesome of a person she is, which really jumped out at me. After booking Aoileann I was definitely thrilled with the outcome. First off on the day of the event she completely aided in calming mine and my parents anxieties (and need to rush!!). She was a much needed calming presence that completely reminded me to take it all in and experience my wedding day. Without a doubt the photographs came out spectacular, but what was invaluable was having Aoileann present on an incredibly stressful day reminding you to take a breath, have a drink, and enjoy yourself! Booking Aoileann is a no-brainer.
After we left Ireland, Miguel and I traveled to Madrid and Barcelona Spain for a week, and then Lyon and Paris France for a second week. We both had never been and visiting was an incredible experience!
We had a croquet tournament the morning of the wedding and Miguel and I made a first place trophy titled: The Inconvenient Trophy We choreographed our first dance to incorporate a dance sequence from our favorite scifi movie Ex Machina. I made a playlist and DJ'd myself on my laptop. It worked for our small wedding.
Honestly I loved our ceremony so much, but the food was pretty hard to forget!
Try not to get caught up in the details and have fun.
